Measurement Modes

Standard Power Quality, Demand, Energy This mode collects data for troubleshooting using standard power quality parameters with event conditions set.
Current Inrush Study This mode records motor start-up and inrush conditions. This mode is used when recording is triggered on change in current.
Fault Recorder Study This mode is similar to current Inrush but with a voltage trigger.
Long Term Timed Recording, Demand, Energy This mode is used for long term statistical studies and benchmarking field-based equipment testing and evaluation. No triggers are set so only trended values are available.
Continuous Data Logging, Demand, Energy This mode logs rms and power values once per second.
EN50160 Power Quality Study This mode monitors and reports Quality of Supply (QoS) compliance as specified by the EN50160 standard.

Measurement method

Vrms, Arms 10/12 cycle contiguous non overlapping intervals in accordance with IEC 61000-4-30
Vpeak, Apeak Absolute highest sample value within 10/12 cycle interval
V Crest Factor Measures ratio between the Vpeak and Vrms
A Crest Factor Measures ratio between the Apeak and Arms
Hz Measured every 10 sec in accordance with IEC61000-4-30
Vrms˝, Arms˝ Value is measured over 1 cycle, commencing at a fundamental zero crossing, and refreshed each half-cycle. This technique is independent for each channel in accordance with IEC 61000-4-30.
Harmonics Calculated from 10/12-cycle gapless harmonic group measurements on Voltage and Amps according to IEC 61000-4-7.
Watt Calculates average value of instantaneous power over 10/12 cycle period for each phase. Total Active Power PT = P1 + P2 + P3.
VA Calculates apparent power using Vrms x Arms value over 10/12 cycle period. Total apparent power is root mean square of real and reactive power.
VAR Calculates reactive power as root of VA squared minus watt squared over 10/12 cycle period.
Power Factor Calculated watt/VA.
Displacement Power Factor Cos of angle between fundamental voltage and current.
Imbalance The supply voltage/current imbalance is evaluated using the method of symmetrical components according to IEC61000-4-30. Imbalance is also calculated according to NEMA guidelines.

Software Display Modes

Meter Presents measurements of last calculation period, phasor diagrams, scope graphs, harmonic plots, and events summary on a single screen. The screen can be customized to display information as required by user.
Trend Plots graphs for continuous data logging measurement performed. The parameters displayed can be changed as per user inputs. The min/max/average values of any parameter at any point are readily available using the mouse cursor.
Event Presents listing of all events within a continuous measurement in the order they occurred. Each record contains date/time when event occurred, event category, channel and duration of event and characterization details.
